Whip Pan

A Whip Pan Shot is a Panning Shot but moving at a higher speed usually to catch something moving rapidly across the frame. When using a Whip Pan Shot the camera always has a main subject in the scene and then the background usually blurs as the camera moves very quickly. This gives the effect of how fast the subject is moving in the scene and as the background blurs whilst the camera is moving it shows its not important. As the main subject is moving as well as the camera it does not blur showing as that it has importance and is the main subject.
